Sleep or "to-do" list
Finally I have a little time to myself to craft, wrap, prepare or play however I want and all I seem to want to do is go to bed. This does not bode well for the mountain of cards I still have to make this holiday season.
I am blog hopping like mad hoping to find some inspiration to do something, somewhere. Tim Holtz - http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/ -has a few nice tags, but way too much work for me, Melanie Louette - http://melanie-notesfromhome.blogspot.com/ -has great pages, but I can't just COPY her brilliance..(can I?)..Kristine - http://kristineskort.blogspot.com/ - is so ahead of the game I am way too intimidated to attempt her level.
I am pretty tempted to watch Christmas tv and eat a little chocolate...

We shall see....

Getting my groove back...
Had fun this weekend, FINALLY getting some pages done...

This is a little recylced packaging I used to make a door hanging for Hannah.
Many thanks to Ann for her thoughtfullness and inspiration. I was able to get 5 little projects completed in just under 10 hours... please bear in mind that this includes lunch and dinner breaks and trip to Ann's LSS!
The smaller picture is the inspiration for my picture - artist unknown.

Later I will add the 5th page, it needs a little editing...

And They're Off!
Hannah and her buddies headed back to school today!
We said goodbye to daddy, ate "egg-in-the-hole" and waitied for the bus with her future husband, Brandon. (Long story, I am hoping they grow out of it).
Brandon and Hannah both wore a red ribbon so that the teachers know which class they are going to be in! But we already know that we are having the fabulous madam Helene again this year! I was not sad to see her go, I was proud that she was ready and fearless! if she comes home in tears tonight, I will rethink my position, but for now I am content that she was prepared and happy to be a "Grade-One-er".
I have spent the day painting our livingroom, FINALLY, after 7 years in the house we have colour on the main floor. Ok, beige is BARELY a colour, but we are happy for now.

It Seems to Have Been a While...
The after effects of all this rain!
Hannah with her gerbera plant and a ladybug!
Lately, although I have taken lots of pictures, I really have not been particularly inspired to scrapbook them, so here are a few of the latest shots, which will make it to albums eventually I am sure!
A Little too cold to jump right in...

So Much CREATIVITY!
Wow! Yesterday I had a great time at Scrapbook Centrale, getting into the groove and sharing space with three very generous women who really know their stuff. I was finally able to create a little something I thought I would share with you. Actually it is a few little somethings. Your comments are welcome!

I worked with patterns and colours that really filled the pages and I feel that I have really stepped up a level in my abilities. Now, I know ,there is a lot that can be said for inking and edging etc... but I purposely turned up with ONE BAG for the day and for the most part made myself scrap from that and well, inks were not part of the picture. Also I did not journal, but I think that, that is something I prefer to do alone and I also think I will try to take pictures of my layouts BEFORE I add journaling in future. I will keep the journalling between me and the recipient of the scrapbooks.
Meanwhile, here they are and with thanks to Beata, Marlene and Lea for their input and company!

First ever scrapbook page...
Well it seems this is the time of year to share our first efforts in scrapbooking, so here is my little "Strip and Triangle' masterpiece. I wonder who came up with the concept and how they scrapbook now!
Look I even used a corner rounder - URGH! what was I thinking!?
But in reality I suppose the first scrapbook page was for a colouring style paper scrapbook of a trip to Sweden I took when I was 13, (1979). I have no idea what I used, but I guess at that age it was probably bostik glue and it must have been strong because I even glued coins with it! It is still holding together here somewhere and has travelled very well from England to the many, many homes I have ahd in Canada - no page protectors either!@

Having a bit of a creative ~buzz~
Well today has been quite inspiring.
I have created in my craft area and browsed around the craftblogs. I am looking forward to completing a challenge this evening. on the {behind the pages} website. we shall see what develops.
I have completed a Sketch Challenge from scrapbook Centrale - finally. I was a little slow off the mark, but got it done in two hours once I was finally on a roll.
Here it is...

Slideshow up and running
Good morning.
Finally figured out what my user name is and have been able to post a slideshow. (most of which you have probably seen already), but enjoy for now while I get myself organised to add the new photos from our FANTASTIC trip to the Museum of Civilisation in Ottawa!
Hannah was amazing to go through the museum for almost 6 hours. There is so much to see we only got through half of the museum in that time....WOW!
It was national Museum day and entry was free for everyone. You can imagine it was rather crowded and there were some lines to wait in, but all in all it was a fantastic day!
Pictures will follow shortly!

Well I am on hold as far as the water in our yard goes.
So Hannah and I spent our forced indoor time making scrapbook pages with owls and shiny stickers. Just so that you know the day was not completely lost, I thought I would show you the masterpiece Hannah Created.
I had created a base page of two corner owls and a strip - Hannah added all the good stuff...
And so it truly continues...
Good Monday morning!
This morning Stinkylou went to the window and told me it was "terrible" outside. I know she did not mean the rain - we like rain. What she meant was the tremendous accumulation of rain in our back yard! I had seriously considered opening the shed today and taking out a few chairs and toys for Madam.
Our street is "new construction" and three houses went up last fall right behind our house. All three gardens seem to run off into ours so I THINK I will be on the phone a fair bit today trying to get answers!
Wish me luck - banks and contractors do not make for a very good morning at all!

Spoolie Groupie
Have you ever made a Spoolie?

This is the first spoolie I ever made, it was a little "purse album" for Grandma.
Sort of a year in review using leftover Photo Studio prints - I find I always have lots of the little ones left!

I LOVE these tiny little treasures. I have made them in different sizes, but thought I would show the you one I made from a mini-ribbon spool. The dollar stores usually have them and the Scrapbook store http://www.scrapbookcentrale.ca/ has baskets of them.
If you would like more information on how to make the spoolie please let me know. I found the directions online after a search, but I could be persuaded to write out a breif directive! I used the Creative Memories Circle Punch and Circle template and they fit beautifully in and on the ribbon spool core!
